Kenya

Seeds of Hope opened it’s first clubhouse in Kenya in 2021. Located in Kenya, Seeds of Hope is providing food, education, therapy, and human-trafficking awareness to at-risk youth. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, an additional 2 million families have fallen into poverty. Many schools closed in Kenya, which has has led to education transitioning to remote learning. Approximately 70% of Kenya’s schoolchildren live in rural areas with a lack of properly financed schools, qualified teachers and educational resources. Many schools have transitioned to remote learning but for most rural households accessing the internet costs more than a day’s pay and they are unable to continue school at home. Many low-income families also do not have access to the smart phones or computers they would require to attend school remotely. Seeds of Hope is providing an extensive educational program to at-risk youth in rural Kenya who are in need of a place of learning.
