We have several programs that have been created to empower and positively support the youth and their families.
We believe in the importance of functional education and how it can open the door to the opportunities that every student should have regardless of economic status. We are laying this foundation of a brighter future by providing quality educational classes at our clubhouse locations currently in Parrita, Palomo, and with our new location in El Salvador. Most of our students live in poverty, and many face the risk of dropping out of school in order to help provide an income for their families. We hold 8-15 classes per week at each clubhouse in the subjects of Bible, English, Vocational Skills/Business, Healthy Relationships, and Personal Growth. Some of the specific classes include Art, Eco-Tourism, Organic Farming, Human/Sex Trafficking Awareness, and Yoga. As the students pass each class with at least 80% “on time” attendance they receive Certificates of Completion. In 2015 Seeds awarded over 1700 certificates to students for completing classes. Graduation with 25 classes completed allows students to advance to a teacher’s aid position. The goal of Seeds is to have 60 students enrolled each session in every clubhouse who will graduate knowing that they are well loved by God, physically, spiritually, emotionally, and psychologically equipped to live a healthy and productive life, with a vocation that they are passionate about.
We are very excited to see more SOH Club Houses open throughout Costa Rica and all over the world. Contact us today to get information about opening one in your area!
