Welcome to Reformadores, Parrita. This is where Seeds of Hope first began it’s mission against sexual exploitation of minors, sex trafficking, drugs, and violence. It’s easy to think of Costa Rica as this beautiful country with gorgeous beaches, world class surfing, biodiversity, nature reserves, monkeys, and exotic fruit. The truth is that because of this country’s unbelievable beauty, there is now a tourism economy that has evolved. Most jobs in Costa Rica cater to some form of tourism, while the poverty rate for Ticos has been steadily rising. Prostitution is also legal which has made Costa Rica a famous destination for sex tourism. ❌ Over one million ticos are living in poverty. In Reformadorres, there are issues with drug trafficking of minors, gang violence, and mothers selling their daughters for sex. It’s something many people turn a blind eye to when traveling, but it is the reality of what many Ticos face. Seeds of Hope is serving this community by providing opportunities to the youth that have been born into a vicious cycle of poverty. They are able to choose another path, one that empowers them to break the cycle and live differently. They can choose to transcend their circumstances. They are being given a new hope❤️

First day of Organic Agriculture class with Professor Rueben! In this class Rueben will be teaching about how to grow plants organically, and basics about soil cultivation, seed starting, different environments for growing certain crops, composting, and organic fertilizers. 🌱🌱🌿🍂🌳🌴🌺🌻🌾 #SeedsofHope #PlantingSeedsofHope
The girls learned how to make their own unicorns in crafts class! 🦄🦄🦄
Setting up the Seeds of Hope store in El Salvador! Students are able to purchase clothing, games, shampoo, books, soccer balls, makeup, bibles, school supplies, and several other things with their “Seeds of Hope” money they get for coming to class. 💶⚽️🎨🛍 It’s a great way to encourage class participation, and it also teaches the kids how to save and buy something they earned! In these areas of more severe poverty... most of the families we work with do not have an extra $1 to give their children for a field trip, so novelty items are not a norm. It’s a special thing for them to be able to buy things just for fun✨
English Class ✏️📓 It has become a necessary skill and requirement in the workforce in Costa Rica to be fluent in English because of the economy that is based around #tourism 🌊🏄🏽♂️🌴 Seeds of Hope provides free English classes that give our students a higher probability of getting a job in the future. #grlpwr

Graduation in Parrita! 🎓 This session our students completed 9 week classes in English, Bible, 🏐Volleyball, a vocational skills class on becoming an electrician 💡⚡️, and a class on sexual exploitation & sex-trafficking: What it is, and how to use your voice and speak out if it something happening to you or to someone you know. 🚫🙅🏽♀️ We are so thankful for your support in making this educational program accessible for so many young lives. We are making a difference by providing high quality classes that empower and inspire endless opportunities for the future of our students! #SeedsofHope #education #empowerment #community #spiritualmentorship #love #antisextrafficking #prevention
